Above the Val Badia valley and along the Sella Massif
We hiked along the south face of the Sella massif.
We toured the war cemetery below before starting to hike up.
The German War Graves Commission built this cemetery on Pordoi
Pass for those who died in the mountain battles during WWI. There
are 8,582 soldiers from Austria-Hungary and Germany buried here.
In 1956, 847 German soldiers who were killed in WWII were
buried around this structure.

We had lunch at Rifugio Franz Kostner. This is the family's
dog hanging out at the back of the rifugio.
